When we say undervalued professionals, we are talking about teachers, social workers, fundraisers, etc are employed in the public and non-profit sectors, which are oftentimes devoid of opportunities for regular professional development and pay increases due to strained budgets. These professionals seek to tackle society's most challenging problems and require creativity and innovation in order to achieve success. However, these professions also face more common and tedious problems that other industries have used IT to alleviate for years.
While quality IT services come standard in professions such as banking, consulting and auditing, IT is more a luxury than a standard in the undervalued professions. The lack of attention on these professionals further leads to their being under-valued. Therefore, Lazy seeks to target these groups of under-valued professionals who have a need for IT services, which are provided regularly in other lines of work.
Disadvantaged students are those students from low-income backgrounds who attend under-resourced and low performing schools. Furthermore, these students lack exposure to extracurricular learning and growth opportunities compared to their peers in more resourced schools and from higher income households. This is an increasingly significant factor in the education gap as today's students compete not just within their local communities but with students all over the world for spots in America's top universities and top jobs. Lazy's aim is to provide exposure to these students, particularly in the area of Information Systems, to help disadvantaged students develop and hopefully become more competitive with students around the world.
Through supplemental education programs in the form of out-of-school learning supports focused on IT education, Lazy hopes to improve the overall academic achievement of disadvantaged students, while exposing them to IT in a way that allows them to be creative and innovative. After all, the current generation of students will be tasked with creating solutions for the next generation and it is Lazy's aim to equip them with the tools and skills critical to their success.
Lazy helps provide sustainable IT services to schools, non-profits, and other under-resourced organizations allowing them to focus their scarce resources on society's biggest problems
